I'm a church planting resident at Faith Community Bible Church in St. Louis and I love the work God has given me! I love Christ and His bride, the church and consider it a great joy and privilege to serve in the local body. If there is any specific task underneath this broader umbrella of being on mission for God that gets me excited, it's preaching. When I preach, I desire to exposit like John MacArthur, deliver it in the structure of Bryan Chapell with the passion of John Piper and the gentleness of Alistair Begg.
What you will find on this site is a mix of articles, devotionals, old podcasts and some poetry. Some of my interests and hobbies include reading, writing, running, grappling and watching good movies. My articles have appeared in The Daily Signal, The Gospel Coalition, For The Church, Desiring God, ERLC and elsewhere. I occasionally write for Crossway's Blog Review Program. I've been married for 11 years to a woman better than I deserve and have five wonderful children.

Research & Writing Interests
I have two major areas of interest. The first is in canonical studies (a topic I will one day write a book on!) and the second is in ethics/apologetics. More specifically, I'm interested in how the general equity of the Old Testament Law can be applied to form a more just society. In my doctoral studies, I'm narrowing in on issues within mass incarceration and overcriminalization though there are several bioethics issues in the arena of IVF that also capture my attention. Sometimes people ask me, "what do you want to do with your PhD when you get it?" That's a good question! My aspiration is to keep my PhD in the pulpit and fulfill a calling in being a pastor and public theologian. I desire to continue to write, but my focus is less academic and more of bridging the world between the academy and the person in the pew.
