About Me

Born in Dodge City, Kansas, I grew up traveling and competing in the sport of wrestling. I had no idea what I wanted to do after high school, but I knew I wanted to do something tough and meaningful, so I enlisted in the Marine Corps and served in the infantry with 1st Battalion 7th Marine Regiment, "Animal" Company, on two deployments to Iraq between 2007-2009. I later served in the reserves with 2/24 Fox Co. before completing my service having attained the rank of sergeant. My time in the Marines has forever textured my ministry and given me a passion to tell veterans and service members about our warrior redeemer Christ Jesus.

I'm the lead pastor of FBC St. John in St. Louis and I love the work God has given me.
I love Christ and His bride, the church and consider it a great joy and privilege to serve in the local body. If there is any specific task underneath this broader umbrella of being on mission for God that gets me excited, it's preaching. When I preach, I desire to exposit like John MacArthur, deliver it in the structure of Bryan Chapell with the passion of John Piper and the gentleness of Alistair Begg.

What you will find on this site is a mix of articles, devotionals, old podcasts and some poetry. Some of my interests and hobbies include reading, writing, running, grappling and watching good movies.
I've been married for 16 years to a woman better than I deserve and have five wonderful children.
